LITIGATION PARALEGAL

Boutique Personal Injury Firm  •  Boulder, CO  •  Hybrid

About the Firm

Our client is a plaintiff-side personal injury boutique founded in 1971 in Boulder, Colorado. For over 50 years the firm has built its reputation exclusively through referrals, representing clients in motor vehicle accidents, traumatic brain injuries, and general personal injury matters.

With just two attorneys and seven staff, this nine-person team operates with zero bureaucracy and maximum accountability. Every team member’s contributions are visible and directly shape client outcomes and the firm’s referral-driven reputation.

Culture & Values

  • Client-first mentality - every client is treated as the firm’s most important asset; staff know their clients’ names and treat each case as a priority, not a file number
  • High autonomy, high accountability - the small team means there’s no hiding; members are trusted to operate independently while maintaining exceptional standards
  • Quality over volume - This firm takes cases seriously, goes to trial regularly, and prioritizes outcomes over throughput
  • Tight-knit team

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced litigation paralegal to take ownership of an active docket of 35–40 litigation files in a fast-paced, trial-ready boutique. You will work directly with two attorneys and play a central role in keeping cases moving from filing through verdict.

What You’ll Do

  • Draft and file pleadings, discovery responses, and motions across an active docket of ∼35–40 litigation files
  • Take full ownership of litigation timelines, deadlines, and court calendars with minimal oversight
  • Coordinate with opposing counsel, courts, and expert witnesses to keep cases on track
  • Provide hands-on trial preparation and on-site trial support when cases go to court
  • Manage pre-litigation support as needed across the firm’s dual-track caseload (pre-lit and lit)
  • Work directly with two attorneys in a tight-knit environment where output directly impacts client outcomes

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 5–7 years of litigation paralegal experience, plaintiff-side personal injury strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage 30 simultaneous litigation files independently
  • Trial preparation and in-courtroom support experience
  • Familiarity with Colorado civil procedure and state court filings
  • Boutique or small-firm background (under 15 people)
  • Pre-litigation case support experience

Education

  • Paralegal certificate or associate’s / bachelor’s degree

Hard Skills

  • Drafting pleadings and discovery responses
  • Colorado civil procedure and state court filings
  • Litigation deadline and court calendar management
  • Filevine case management software (preferred)

Soft Skills & Attributes

  • Self-directed; works independently without hand-holding
  • Client-first mentality; treats every client as a priority
  • Personable fit for a tight-knit nine-person office
  • Stable tenure history; no pattern of job-hopping

Why Join

  • Real ownership over a meaningful caseload — run 35–40 litigation files with direct attorney access and no layers of bureaucracy
  • A firm that actually goes to trial — this isn’t a settlement mill; courtroom experience is regular, not occasional
