What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility position at Agile Cold Storage?
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic production environment.
Perform production tasks including, but not limited to:
Stacking floor-loaded containers
Spacing and de-spacing pallets
Repacking boxes
Repeatedly lift 45-75 pounds throughout the shift.
Perform general custodial tasks including:
Sweeping, mopping, washing, and removing trash
Secure products with stretch wrap and apply correct labels as required.
Record material details such as weight, count, and condition using an RF system.
Conduct inventory counts and updates as needed.
Label, sort, stack, tie, and repack product based on operational needs.
Follow all safety procedures and wear required safety gear, including company-provided cold weather PPE during warehouse operations.
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area at all times.
- Other Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain a clean and organized personal workspace.
May assist in Inventory or Utility tasks as assigned.
Perform additional duties as needed to support Agile's operational goals.
- Required Qualifications
Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds.
Basic English language proficiency (reading, speaking).
Willingness and ability to:
Complete a basic math skills assessment
Pass a background check and drug screening
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficient in basic English and math skills.
Able to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
Comfortable working in cold environments for extended periods.
- Work Environment
Frequent exposure to extremely cold temperatures (cold storage).
Regular exposure to moving machinery and moderate noise levels.
- Work Hours
10-hour shifts, 4 days per week (subject to change based on business needs):
1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch)
2nd Shift: 5:00 PM - 2:00 AM (1-hour unpaid lunch)
May be required to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical and Mental Demands
Frequent: Standing, walking, sitting, handling, reaching outward and above shoulders
Occasional: Climbing, squatting, kneeling, bending
Regularly lift/push/pull 45-75 lbs
Must follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.
Must adhere to grooming, hygiene, and dress code policies.
Frequent exposure to cold temperatures and moderate warehouse noise.
- Supervisory Responsibilities
May occasionally lead special projects with guidance from frontline supervision.
