Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Electric Lineman/Crewleader to join our team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems for utility services, ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in high and low voltage systems, field service operations, and leadership capabilities to oversee crew activities. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects including construction sites, utility infrastructure, and IT infrastructure integration.
Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain overhead and underground electrical distribution systems using bucket trucks and climbing techniques.
- Rigging and cabling for electrical components, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed.
- Operate bucket trucks, bucket lifts, and other specialized equipment safely to access high voltage lines.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams related to electrical systems.
- Conduct utility locating to identify underground utilities before excavation or installation work.
- Perform troubleshooting and testing using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic instruments.
- Engage in tree trimming activities around power lines to prevent outages and ensure safety.
- Follow NEC (National Electrical Code) standards for all installations and repairs.
- Lead field service operations on-site, coordinating team activities while maintaining safety standards.
- Document work performed accurately and report on project progress or issues encountered during operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electric Lineman with knowledge of high voltage and low voltage systems.
- Strong background in industrial or commercial electrician work, including cabling, wiring, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with welding, rigging, bucket operation, climbing, and working at heights.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, utility locating, NEC standards, and field service procedures.
- Ability to operate bucket trucks and bucket lifts safely; certification is a plus.
- Construction site experience preferred; ability to work in various outdoor environments under different weather conditions.
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure related to electrical systems is advantageous.
- Skilled in tree trimming around power lines to maintain system integrity.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for testing electrical circuits.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; CDL certification is a plus.
