AGI Hi Roller manufactures a line of premier commercial enclosed, dust-tight and self-reloading conveyors, designed for installation in grain handling facilities, soy and corn processing operations and industrial operations. It specializes exclusively in the design and application of conveyors which will not only contain dust and spilled materials but will also automatically reload that material back on the carrying surface of the belt.
The Opportunity
The Machine Operator I is a skilled position responsible for safely operating basic steel processing equipment, including saws, Anglemaster, and CNC router systems under supervision. This role focuses on learning machine setup, material handling, and production procedures while maintaining quality and safety standards.
The Team
Our large production team consists of welders, assemblers, metal fabricators, powder coaters, and more. As a Machine Operator I you will collaborate with your Production Supervisor and peers to fabricate parts to build custom grain conveyors for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Operate assigned machines (saw, Anglemaster, CNC router) following standard work instructions
- Load and unload raw steel materials and finished parts
- Perform basic machine setups, adjustments, and changeovers with guidance
- Read and interpret simple work orders, prints, and cut lists
- Measure parts using basic tools (tape measure, calipers, square) to ensure accuracy
- Monitor machine operations and report issues to supervisors or maintenance
- Maintain clean and organized work areas (5S practices)
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Assist experienced operators during complex setups or troubleshooting
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- 0-2 years of manufacturing or machine operation experience
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read measurements and perform basic math
- Willingness to learn CNC controls and fabrication processes
- Attention to detail
- Reliability and punctuality
- Ability to follow instructions
- Basic problem-solving
- Follow AGI’s Code of Business Ethics and related compliance policies
- Ability to handle repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift and maneuver 55 pounds repeatedly
