Position Overview

We are seeking highly motivated Project Engineer Interns who aspire to join our team on a fast-track path to a full-time position within the company! This position will be based at our Headquarters in Springfield, OR and will collaborate with both field and administrative divisions to play a pivotal role in the rock drilling and blasting blast design process from start to finish. Additionally, this position will contribute to reviewing project documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contract documents.

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, with flexibility for occasional fieldwork and site travel.

Work Location

  • Headquarters in Springfield, OR, with opportunities to travel to job sites across ARI’s service areas.

Compensation/Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
  • Internship Status: This is a temporary, seasonal internship that does not qualify for standard employee benefits.

Job Requirements/ Qualifications

  • Education: Currently pursuing a degree in construction engineering, mining engineering or civil engineering.
  • Technical Proficiency: Tech-savvy, eager to learn, adopt/implement and develop new technology.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint).

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Blast Design Support: Utilizes drones, mapping software, AI tools, and rover survey technology to support blast design.
  • Field Collaboration: Works with machine operators and the blasting team to ensure field accuracy in executing designs.
  • Vibration Prediction: Assists in predicting vibration levels related to blast planning.
  • Compliance Planning: Contributes to blast and safety plan preparation for government projects.
  • Document Review: Reviews project documentation for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with contract requirements.
  • Operational Support: Assists with various responsibilities to support Rock Drilling and Blasting Operations.
