What are the responsibilities and job description for the RVT or LVT position at Aggie Animal Clinic?
Looking for an experienced RVT/LVT to join our small, but busy, clinic in the heart of downtown Dixon, Ca.
Tasks include:
- Inductions and Recovery
- Anesthetic monitoring & Surgical assisting
- Drawing up narcotics for surgical procedures or sedations
- Filling controlled medication prescribed by a veterinarian.
- Dental and general radiography
- Minor bandaging
- Venipuncture, collecting samples & in-house lab sample processing.
- Vaccinations, takes vital signs, SQ treatments, SQ injections, IM injections, IV injections, placing IV catheters.
- Maintaining records: Entering medical notes, entering charges, requesting out-side lab samples, discharge surgical instructions, etc.
- Cleans animal cages and equipment and prep surgery room/dental suite
- Some front desk i.e. answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, surgical discharge, etc.
Technicians at our clinic have the opportunity to work with canine, feline patients & occasional pocket pets. Requirements: 1 year of veterinary experience (w/in a veterinary clinic/hospital) veterinary technician license. Flexible work schedule. Closed on major holidays (Memorial day, 4th of July, Labor day, Thanksgiving day, Christmas day and New Years day).

RVT Qualifications / Skills:
Graduate from an accredited vet tech school
Pass the VTNE
Complete a federal back ground check
