Job Summary
We are hiring a Field Installation Technician (Non-Licensed) with experience in Access Control, CCTV, Burglar Alarm, and Fire Alarm systems.
In this role, you will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining low-voltage security and life safety systems across commercial and industrial sites.
This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on field experience in low-voltage systems and construction (conduit, mounting, wiring).
Key Responsibilities
• Install and configure:
o Access Control Systems
o CCTV / Video Surveillance
o Burglar Alarm Systems
o Fire Alarm Systems
• Perform wiring, conduit installation, and device mounting
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics
• Conduct testing, inspections, and preventive maintenance
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues
• Complete service requests and documentation via laptop/mobile tools
• Ensure installations meet safety codes and quality standards
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members
Technicians typically install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain fire/security systems while ensuring compliance with safety standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Experience with:
o Access Control, CCTV, Fire Alarm, or Burglar Alarm systems
• Knowledge of low voltage systems and wiring
• Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints
• Hands-on experience with tools, conduit, and installation work
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable working on ladders and lifts
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Preferred Qualifications
• NICET Certification (preferred, not required)
• Experience with SimplexGrinnell or similar systems
• Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
• Previous field service or construction experience
Education
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
What You’ll Do Daily
• Travel to job sites and perform system installations
• Run conduit, pull cable, and mount devices
• Test and inspect systems to ensure proper functionality
• Document completed work and inspections
• Support customers with system understanding and usage
Requirements
• Valid Driver’s License reliable transportation
• Ability to pass background check
• Willingness to work in field environments
