Job Description
Job Title: Finisher/Deburrer
SUMMARY
Clean, debur, polisher, grind or abrade surfaces of metal, plastic, rubber or other material.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspects part for improper finish, misalignment, out of specification conditions or missing operations and reworks if necessary.
Obtain and use appropriate PPE for operation based on department safety procedure.
Finishes surface of metallic or composite part using one of the appropriate methods including abrasive wheel, belt, aggregate or other indicated tools on written work instructions.
Cleans exterior surfaces and interior surfaces of holes. Changes tools on powered equipment.
May apply abrasive compound, wax, or other dressing to facilitate cleaning or polishing operation.
Examines part for acceptability of finish.
Visually inspects product to ensure it is free of defects or missing operations.
Other duties as assigned.

Responsible for own work and infrequent checking of the work of less skilled or experienced coworker

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Level one
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Level one
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
