The Agape School is looking for a loving, patient, and dependable Young Toddler Teacher to join our growing team. We are seeking someone who has a heart for children, a passion for early childhood education, and a desire to help our youngest learners grow in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.
At The Agape School, we believe in creating a strong foundation through love, learning, STEAM, and Spanish. Our young toddler teachers play a special role in helping children explore the world around them while building confidence, trust, and early developmental skills.
Position Summary
The Young Toddler Teacher will care for and teach children ages 1–2 in a warm, structured, and developmentally appropriate classroom setting. The ideal candidate is nurturing, energetic, attentive, and committed to supporting each child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth through play and daily interaction.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a safe, loving, and engaging classroom environment
- Support children’s daily routines including meals, diapering, naps, and transitions
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that encourage exploration and development
- Foster language development through talking, singing, reading, and play
- Support social-emotional growth by modeling kindness, patience, and positive interactions
- Encourage sensory play, movement, fine motor development, and early learning experiences
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom environment
- Communicate daily with parents regarding children’s needs, milestones, and activities
- Observe and document developmental progress
- Ensure compliance with all childcare licensing and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Experience working with toddlers in a childcare setting preferred
- CDA, associate degree, or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong understanding of child development for ages 1–2
- Patient, nurturing, dependable, and team-oriented
- Ability to actively engage with children throughout the day
Requirements
- Ability to pass all required background clearances
- Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Health assessment and TB clearance
- Completion of mandated reporter training and other required state trainings
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance
