Production Supervisor (First Shift M-F)
Trade Show Display and Modular Office Industry
Role Overview
We are seeking a Production Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations for our trade show display and modular office production team. This role supervises approximately thirty production employees, develops Team Leaders, and assists the Operations Director to deliver safe, efficient, on-time production with high quality standards. The Production Supervisor plans and assigns labor, coordinates equipment and workflow, monitors progress against deadlines, and drives continuous improvement while maintaining a positive, collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of manufacturing supervisory experience
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles
- Familiarity with OSHA safety procedures
- Strong computer skills (order creation, timecard management, labor allocation, emails, Microsoft Office)
- Firsthand teaching approach with demonstrated leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and develop a 30-person production team; build capability through Team Leaders and a firsthand teaching approach.
- Plan and manage daily production schedules, labor allocation, and equipment utilization to meet delivery timelines and efficiency goals.
- Enforce safety, quality, and productivity standards; lead required training (annual safety, forklift re-certification, new-hire orientation) and support the Safety Committee.
- Coordinate order execution with Project Managers and Sales; serve as the primary production point of contact for orders in progress and communicate timeline changes as needed.
- Review daily priorities with the Operations Director and arrange overtime when necessary to meet deadlines.
- Perform regular spot-checks and in-process/final quality checks; review MIDs (Missing, Incorrect, or Damaged) and job costing reports and address issues with the team.
- Complete required system/computer work (order creation, timecard review and corrections, labor allocation, job closeout, and email updates)
- Maintain shop support processes: monthly inventory of consumables; create/monitor/close stock jobs based on minimum and reorder quantity standards.
- Provide operational coverage as needed: oversee the Parts Room Clerk and fill in when necessary; maintain working knowledge of Star Ship and serve as backup for Shipping & Receiving
- Coordinate facility needs and oversees routine maintenance and upkeep of company equipment.
- Manage personnel matters in accordance with the company handbook and applicable local, state, and federal laws.
- Model professional, collaborative, positive, and decisive leadership aligned to company values; perform other duties as assigned, including occasional work beyond a standard 40-hour week.
