Ground Segment Systems Engineer (d/f/m)

Job Description: For Airbus Defence & Space in Taufkirchen we are looking for a Ground Segment Systems Engineer (d/f/m) to join the System Delivery Germany team. The department is developing satellite communication systems for civil and military customers. As a Ground Segment Systems Engineer (d/f/m), you will work on the concept, design, development and technical procurement of the Ground Segment extensions and modifications of SATCOMBw and EDRS Ground Segments for new customers as well as for the support of further satellites. You are also In the frame of the procurement activities, you will follow the development and acceptance phase from the Request for Proposal (RFP) up to the final acceptance of the ground segment entities. After acceptance, you will accompany the implementation of the ground segment items into the Ground Segment until they go live in operations. During the operational phase, you are the technical point-of-contact for any anomalies that might occur and support the technical resolution of the issues. IT infrastructure as well as data centers Elaboration of system trade-offs in the area of ground segment engineering and support the overall system architecture definition Elaboration of verification and validation concept at ground system level and support of relevant tests; • Elaboration of the operations concept as well as preparation of operational requirements for the ground segment; • Provide technical support to the project managers on planning, contractual changes and risk & opportunities identification Desired skills and qualifications Master’s degree in Microwave, Telecommunications, Electronics or other related Engineering disciplines Profound knowledge of ground segment engineering, i.e. technical interface, data flow (for user and management data) as well as TM/TC engineering (secure and unsecured) Strong knowledge of communication engineering including RF link budgets and antenna designs • Strong experience in software based systems, networks and IT infrastructure Experience in Ground Station engineering Experience in design, development, integration, verification, operations of Ground Systems and associated processes and operational procedures Business fluency in English and German Not a 100% match?
