- This position requires regular on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Due to the nature of veterinary hospital operations, in-person attendance is necessary to support patient care, respond to time-sensitive needs, collaborate with clinical teams, and maintain the safety and well-being of patients, clients, and staff. Skill, Knowledge, & Expertise
- Primary responsibility of direct patient care (feeding/watering horses & cleaning stalls)
- Document feedings and check water throughout the day
- Ensure that troughs, buckets, and pans are cleaned, and that stalls are properly bedded and cleaned for patient care
- Maintain inpatient records, including feedings, location, and admission/discharge notes
- Help with patient handling, the transportation of horses, feed, hay and equipment
- Perform lawn maintenance as needed to ensure that areas, including fence lines, are cut and complimentary of our practice appearance
- Maintain parking areas, lameness pad, and arenas, ensuring that they are clean and orderly
- Maintain a clean facility by cleaning floors, removing garbage, and cleaning multi-surface areas as needed
- Operate farm equipment for the movement of hay, feed, and shavings
