Agricultural Seed Technician responsible for providing technical and physical assistance in producing Foundation seed at the Agronomy Seed Farm. Planting, spraying, harvesting of the seed fields, monitoring fields for weed control, perform tillage operations in the spring and fall. Operate large scale modern farm equipment and ability to transport equipment on public roads. Operate seed cleaning equipment. Will load bulk and bagged seed to customers. Provide assistance as needed to the research scientists including breeders and technicians with land preparation and fall tillage. Coordinate and provide maintenance on farm equipment.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday (8 hours/day) Additional overtime hours as needed.
Hiring Range: $45,000 - $58,000 depending on experience.
Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Agriculture and/or minimum 2 years' experience
Preferred Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy or related field with minimum 5 years of experience in the Certified seed industry.
Experience with seed cleaning equipment preferred.
