Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, and guest-focused Wine Tasting
Room Associate to deliver exceptional hospitality and memorable wine experiences.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in wine service, sales, and customer
engagement, and thrives in a fast-paced, hospitality-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide warm, professional, and engaging wine tasting experiences for guests
- Confidently present wines, winery history, winemaking practices, and regional information
- Drive wine sales through effective storytelling, upselling, and club sign-ups
- Process transactions accurately using POS systems
- Maintain tasting room appearance, cleanliness, and organization
- Assist with inventory management, restocking, and merchandising
- Support wine club events, private tastings, and special events as needed
- Build rapport with guests to encourage repeat visits and brand loyalty
- Ensure responsible alcohol service and compliance with all local and state regulations
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a winery tasting room, wine bar, or hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of wine styles, varietals, and tasting techniques
- Proven sales ability with a customer-focused approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and special events
- POS experience preferred
- WSET or other wine certification a plus (but not required)
