What are the responsibilities and job description for the After-School Chess, STEAM and Drama Instructors Needed (Part-Time) position at Afterschool Enrichment Solutions?
Have fun teaching after school enrichment classes to elementary school kids! Afterschool Enrichment Solutions was founded in 2001 as an after-school chess club. Today we work with thousands of schools and provide a wide array of programming to over 30,000 students across the US.
Live in the Birmingham, MI 48009 area? Be the spark that ignites creativity and knowledge this fall! We are seeking reliable instructors to lead engaging courses in:
- Chess
- STEAM/Science
- Drama
No prior knowledge required for most subjects, as we provide user-friendly lesson plans to guide you through each class.
Chess knowledge is required in order to teach chess classes (e.g. piece value, castling, pawn promotion, strategies, etc.).
An ideal candidate must be at least 18 years of age with excellent classroom management skills and have an engaging personality. The students are primarily between the ages of 6 and 12, so experience with youth is a plus!
Rate: $40-$60 per one-hour class taught. It is not possible to teach more than one class per day.
Expectations:
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Must be available for all dates
- Must be able to arrive to class 15-minutes prior to start
- Payments are issued on a monthly basis, following month of service, i.e. September class payments are issued in October, on or before the 21st of the month
- Must complete a W-9, this is a contract position
