Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and creative Afterschool Sculpture Instructor to engage and inspire students through hands-on art projects. Responsibilities
- Plan and lead engaging sculpture and art activities tailored to various age groups
- Manage classroom behavior to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment
- Assist students in developing their creativity through step-by-step instructions and encouragement
- Maintain a clean and organized art space, ensuring all supplies are properly stored and used safely
- Collaborate with school staff and parents to support student progress and address individual needs
- Incorporate elements of behavior management, childhood development, and special education strategies as needed
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including basic first aid procedures when necessary
- Foster positive relationships with students, promoting confidence, teamwork, and self-expression
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, tutoring, or extracurricular settings
- Demonstrated classroom management skills and ability to handle diverse student needs
- Background in arts education, sculpture, theater, or related creative fields preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development stages
- Experience with behavior management techniques and special education accommodations is a plus
- Certification in first aid or child CPR is desirable but not mandatory; training can be provided if needed
