Job Summary
The UV Coloring associate will be responsible to ensure fibers are correctly returned to inventory. This position will require acquiring lengths using an OTDR on hundreds of fibers a day, return the fiber out of the discrete job in Oracle, assign the fibers to open location, label them and place them on a rack.
Responsibilities
- Lookup fiber history and determine the job the fiber was used on
- Using OTDR, check length of the fiber
- Transact the return or scrap transaction
- Correctly label fiber and place in correct location
- Co-ordinate tasks with Fiber planners to accomplish daily demands
- Work closely with fiber planning internal customers
- Participate in any related improvement activities
- Follow all safety guidelines required of a Fiber Planner
- Maintain all required Safety Training required
- Adhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies of AFL.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
- Maintain accurate Fiber inventory
- Learn to run coloring lines to cover breaks/absences
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Demonstrated performer with 3 years of discrete manufacturing experience in cable manufacturing
- Current AFL manufacturing process certification
- Current EHS/Quality certification and EHS training
- No pending, active, or a repetitive history of disciplinary action
- Very detail oriented (Mistakes cause lose in production)
- Dependable with exceptional attendance history
- Available to work a night shift 2-2-3 schedule (7p-7a)
