What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Affordable Care Clinics?
The Medical Assistant functions under the supervision of the Physician, Nurse Provider and Manager providing clinical and clerical services, including rooming patients, assisting with exams and procedures, performing waived lab tests, and administering medications.

- Excellent customer service and communication skill to maintain
- Assisting the providers for rooming patients and obtaining and recording vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure, weight and height and updating allergies and medications in EMR.
- Responsible for cleaning exam rooms, pre-procedure, procedure and post- procedure areas throughout the clinic day and completing the end of day checklist.
- Collects specimens for all necessary testing as directed by the provider.
Education/Training
High school graduate or equivalent. Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school required.
Licensure/Certification
Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification – and-
Maintains current certification by one of the following agencies:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) (www.aama-ntl.org)
Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by American Medical Technologists (AMT) (www.amt1.com)
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by National Association (NHA) (www.nhanow.com)
National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) by National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) (www.ncctinc.com)
