We are seeking a full-time Accounting Associate to support multiple Affinity Group regions. This position will be based at our headquarters in Charlotte, NC and will report to the Controller.

Who we're looking for:
The Accounting Associate plays an important part in the monthly process that will primarily focus on inputting transactions, verifying payments, and validating that all company credits are accounted for. Additional areas include Accounts Receivable reporting and 3rd party client interactions. The right candidate is looking for a stable and long-term commitment and is comfortable and at ease working either in groups or solo.

Job Duties:
- Excel (a must): Candidate should be analytically inclined, with attention to detail, and able to quickly translate data
- Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Treasury Management
- QuickBooks: Translate transactions, post deposits with our accounting software
- Account Reconciliation: Research and resolve commission discrepancies
- Quality Control: Ensure process workflows are accurate with billing accounts. Track receipts and approval backup
- Data Integrity: Accurately entering numeric/alphanumeric information via database
- Monthly Closeout: Prepare monthly stats/metrics, and account reconciliations. Review account status monthly to ensure accurate and timely payments are received
- Communicator: Triage department emails and draft communication related to month-end
- Invoicing: Generate/submit billing invoices for reimbursable expenses to clients, determine allocations and diligent payment follow-up. Our company has a high volume of food trade shows that require timely follow-up with clients for expense reimbursement. This position must also engage with our sales teams to manage these events
- Online Banking: Scanning deposits utilizing bank scanner. Saving copies of documents to SharePoint
- Mail: Daily processing of checks received by mail
Required/Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting/Finance or related discipline
- Influence: Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of the organization. Must have a personable approach to influence internal clients (employees) and chase down RFI's (request for info) on a routine basis
- Discipline: Possesses and applies fundamental accounting and finance concepts, practices and procedures. Ability to be self-motivated, to multi-task and achieve time-sensitive deadlines
- Teamwork: Ability to partner with diverse teams and learn from others, regardless of titles
- Experience using Microsoft products such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Desired Qualifications:
- Two (2) years or more of professional work-related experience in addition to degree
- Technology:
- High proficiency in Excel, Power BI, SharePoint and Adobe Pro
- Experience working with QuickBooks.
- Systems Passion: Experience with online systems and automation applications such as SAP Concur Expense Management
What to Expect:
- Mon - Fri (8am to 5pm)
- Hybrid role once trained
- No travel, except for on rare occasions for continuing education
