Duties
- Conduct thorough intake assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health needs using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
- Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions incorporating modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, play therapy, DBT, or other modalities
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage acute mental health episodes and ensure client safety through effective crisis management techniques
- Provide specialized counseling for different populations including children and adults with a wide range of mental health needs
- Document all patient interactions meticulously in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards; maintain accurate medical records using ICD coding for billing and case management purposes
- Stay current with clinical research developments and best practices in behavioral health to enhance treatment efficacy and patient outcomes
Experience
- Valid licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LPC or equivalent) with active certification in Georgia
- Proven experience providing psychotherapy in outpatient or inpatient settings with diverse populations including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors
- Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, grief counseling, addiction counseling, and trauma-informed care for PTSD
- Hands-on telehealth experience delivering remote mental health services effectively while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for diagnostic evaluation and billing processes
- Knowledge of working with and billing for Medicaid clients helpful
- Ability to handle crisis situations efficiently through crisis management skills; experience in hospital or clinical settings is advantageous
