The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a security professional for the development, testing, fielding, and protection of advanced and special access program resources and technologies.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience which is equivalent to Federal experience at the next lower grade GS-11 level, pay band (NH-02), or equivalent.
Specialized Experience is the ability to define, directs or lead highly challenging projects/programs. Identifies and resolves highly complex problems not susceptible to treatment by accepted methods. Develops, integrates, and implements solutions to diverse, highly complex problems across multiple areas and disciplines.
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate for this position has current experience as a government special access program (SAP) security officer (GSSO) and as a Special Security Representative (SSR) to manage the day-to-day security procedures for multiple classified facilities, including open storage areas, SAPFs, and SCIFs. The ideal candidate has an active Top-Secret security clearance with SCI and SAP access. Additionally, the ideal candidate also has experience with other security programs such as physical security, information security (INFOSEC), personnel security (PERSEC), operations security (OPSEC), and industrial security (INDSEC) to assist the Director with management of the unit's overall security posture.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of information, industrial, and personnel security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas.
2. Knowledge of required special access program (SAP) and sensitive compartmented information (SCI) security procedures.
3. Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating SAP security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the installation.
4. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with co-workers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
5. Ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
