Assistant Controller – Manufacturing
Location: Whitehall, MI (Onsite)
Our client is seeking an Assistant Controller to join their team and serve as a key financial leader within a major manufacturing operation. This role reports directly to the Controller and oversees a finance team of 4–5 people.
Top Requirements:
- 5 years of finance experience in manufacturing (required) — strong background in cost accounting, standardized costing, and GAAP financial compliance
- Leadership experience — prior team lead or management experience in forecasting & budgeting
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance (preferred)
Additional Skills:
- Advanced financial analysis and advanced Excel proficiency
- Experience with Hyperion and Power BI (or broader Oracle ecosystem) highly preferred
- Strong understanding of financial controls, reporting, and operational support
What You’ll Do:
- Support and partner with the Controller on all financial operations
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, GAAP compliance, and cost accounting processes
- Drive financial process improvements and reporting enhancements
- Collaborate cross-functionally within a complex manufacturing environment
