Job Summary
The Material Expediter will function in a logistics and production support role focused on ensuring the timely movement of materials, parts, and inventory between storage and production areas to meet operational schedules.
Responsibilities
- Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, tugs, golf carts, pallet jacks) to receive, deliver, move, locate, relocate, stack, and count production and non-production parts.
- Read production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine material types, quantities, availability, and order priorities.
- Direct or request information from other material handlers to expedite transfers between stock and production areas.
- Identify damaged parts in kits and notify the plant; hold incomplete kits until replacements are made.
- Unload inbound shipments, load outbound shipments, and move product to designated storage or staging areas.
- Perform picking and staging to ensure the exact number and type of product is ready for daily production.
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently, following prescribed work methods.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct cycle counts, and ensure proper stock rotation.
- Verify received materials for part numbers, condition, and discrepancies.
- Assist in physical inventories and may perform other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Years of Experience:
- One (1) year of prior relevant experience required.
Required Skills, Qualifications, Technical Experience, Certifications, etc.:
- Working knowledge of computer systems and computer administration.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to pass a NASA background investigation.
- Must be able to pass an initial and random drug testing.
- Must have and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.
Skills, Qualifications, Technical Experience, Certifications, etc.:
- Four (4) years of prior relevant experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Requires working both indoors and outdoors.
- Outdoor conditions may be in cold and hot temperatures, high humidity, and windy conditions.
- Sometimes requires lifting up to 35 - 50 pounds and working on uneven surfaces, and standing for long periods.
