Aetna Building Solutions is looking for a driven, relationship-focused Architectural Specifications Sales Consultant to help shape projects from concept to completion. In this role, you won’t just sell products—you’ll influence design decisions, build long-term partnerships, and drive demand within the architectural and design community.

What You’ll Do

Drive Demand & Win Specifications

  • Build relationships with architects, designers, spec writers, contractors, and other key influencers
  • Develop strategies to get Aetna products specified into commercial and residential projects
  • Increase brand awareness through presentations, lunch & learns, CEUs, and networking events
  • Focus on key markets like Healthcare, Education, Hospitality, Retail, Multi-Family, and more


Manage Projects & Pipeline

  • Track and manage project opportunities from early design through order fulfillment
  • Maintain accurate activity and pipeline updates in CRM tools
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth project execution
  • Visit job sites and fabricators to support project success and conversion


Stay Connected & Informed

  • Participate in industry events and professional organizations
  • Keep up with market trends, competitive insights, and emerging opportunities
  • Continuously build your expertise through training and certifications


Collaborate & Communicate

  • Work cross-functionally with sales, product, and customer support teams
  • Share insights that help shape strategy and improve results
  • Provide regular updates on activity, pipeline, and market feedback


Basic Qualifications

  • Proven ability to build strong professional relationships and influence decision-makers
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with excellent organization and follow-through
  • Experience in sales, business development, or specification sales (3 years preferred)
  • Familiarity with construction, design, or building materials industries is a plus
  • Comfort using CRM systems and sales tools


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with decorative surfaces (HPL, quartz, solid surface, granite, etc.)
  • Background in architecture, interior design, construction, or related fields
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Experience with project tracking tools like Dodge Data & Analytics

Compensation for this role is based on skills and experience, starting in the mid $70,000 range.
