Position Summary
The Desktop Support Technician will be the primary point of contact employee technical issues, providing in-person, phone, or remote support. This role ensures optimal performance of workstation hardware and software, maintaining a productive environment of end-users.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with laptops, desktops, printers, and other peripheral devices
- Setup and Installation: Configure and install new hardware and software systems.
- Work Request Management: Respond to, document, and track work requests.
- User support: Provide excellent customer service by guiding users through problem-solving steps.
- Account Administration: Assist with password resets, active directory user creation, and accessing IT resources (i.e., folder access, etc.)
- Asset Management: Maintain an inventory of IT equipment and assist with hardware replacement/refresh.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, and networking fundamentals (DHCP, DNS, Wi-Fi).
- Experience: 0-2 years of experience in an IT help desk or customer facing role.
- Communication: Ability to explain technical issues in simple terms to non-technical staff.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues.
- Physical requirements: Ability to lift 40 lbs. to handle hardware installation (rack mounting equipment).
