What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Engineer - II position at Aerospace Techniques, Inc.?
Local aircraft precision machine shop seeks Manufacturing Engineer II with 2-4 years experience working in the field as a manufacturing engineer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes and implement for improvement
- Troubleshooting problems
- Designing manufacturing fixtures and gauging (in SolidWorks and Mastercam)
- Updating and maintaining Engineering documents (tooling, manufacturing work instructions, travelers, control plan, etc.)
- Drafting tool/gage prints and work instructions
- Review and approve tool/gage prints and work instructions
- Create machining programs and identify setup for work instructions
- Creating and/or revising CNC programs
- Creating and/or revising CMM programs
- Communicate with equipment vendors and services
- Work closely with Tool Room, Supervisors, and Inspectors
- Provide technical support to other departments (Quality and Production, etc.)
- Learn more about milling, grinding, and EDM processes
- Adhere to all ATI procedures and policies
Education, Training, and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or a related field (equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in an engineering role
- Experience in CAD and CAM software (e.g. SolidWorks preferred, NX, and Mastercam, etc.)
- Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Blueprint reading
- Basic machining, manufacturing processes, and inspection knowledge
- Communication skills
- Teamwork skills
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent U.S. resident (Green Card) for security clearance
