Account Manager – Aerospace Manufacturing

Position Summary
The Account Manager is responsible for managing assigned aerospace customer accounts and serves as the primary point of contact for customer communication. This position supports quoting coordination, order execution, and cross-functional collaboration to help ensure customer requirements are understood and addressed from quote through delivery.
The Account Manager works closely with Operations, Drafting, Engineering, Quality, Scheduling, and Accounts Receivable to support customer satisfaction, on-time delivery, and account development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Customer Relationship & Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts.
- Maintain professional, consistent communication with customers regarding order status, delivery commitments, priorities, and potential risks.
- Support customer relationship development through responsiveness, accountability, and follow-through.
- Communicate customer requirements, concerns, and feedback to internal teams as appropriate.
- Participate in issue resolution and support continuous improvement of customer service levels.
Customer Quoting & Print Review
- Prepare and support timely, accurate customer quotations (RFQs) in alignment with company capabilities and customer requirements.
- Review customer drawings, blueprints, and technical data packages to support accurate scope definition.
- Collaborate with Aeron Engineering to review drawings, including GD&T, tolerances, materials, revision levels, and special process requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, and production to clarify technical requirements prior to quote submission.
- Follow up on quoted items and communicate status updates to customers.
Order & Contract Management
- Review customer purchase orders for alignment with quotes and contractual requirements.
- Support communication of applicable customer Terms & Conditions to internal departments.
- Process customer purchase orders in a timely manner, with a target scheduling timeframe of five (5) business days from receipt.
- Coordinate customer change orders and assist with communication of impacts.
- Ensure customer purchase orders and changes are acknowledged in accordance with company procedures.
Execution & Performance Monitoring
- Monitor order progress and provide status updates to customers as appropriate.
- Communicate delivery changes, delays, or risks in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor customer Quality and On-Time Delivery (OTD) metrics and support internal efforts to address issues.
- Coordinate technical responses with drafting, engineering, or production teams as needed.
Outside Processing & Materials
- Maintain working knowledge of common aerospace outside processing requirements, including heat treat, anodize, chem film, plating, NDT, painting, and coatings.
- Support coordination with approved outside processors as required.
- Knowledge of aerospace raw materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and similar alloys, is preferred.
- Demonstrate awareness of basic aerospace material certification and traceability requirements.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in an aerospace or manufacturing office environment; account management or customer service experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required; business, technical, or related field preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret aerospace drawings and specifications.
- Experience with ERP systems such as JobBOSS or similar is preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
