Airframe Assembler - Journeyman
Pay range: $28 - $37 hourly *sign on bonus eligible for journeyman*
Schedule: Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 4:30pm & Friday 7:00am - 12:00pm
The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to:
- Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners.
- Rivet structural assemblies and parts using riveting guns, pneumatic drills, counter sinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, etc.
- Utilize blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to determine sequence of operations, type size for rivets, and hole patterns.
- Apply sealants, adhesives, and solvents per customer specifications by using proper safety devices.
- Perform layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment, or fabricated items.
- Use fractions, decimal, and mathematical formulas to solve dimensional problems.
- Cut, trim, and file parts while verifying fitting tolerances to prepare for installation.
- Fasten, support, and/or hang components and subassemblies.
- Remove fasteners without damaging structures.
- Verify conformance of finished work pieces to specifications using measuring tools.
- Identify product defects and communicate errors to appropriate personnel.
- Collaborate with engineers to complete research and development work.
- Make tooling as needed.
- Bag and tag finished products.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: High school diploma
Skills
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to complete close tolerance work.
- Mechanically inclined with good manual dexterity.
- Familiarity with drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Training: On the job training.
