Airframe Assembler

Aerometals is looking to add the following position:

Airframe Assembler 

Pay range: $28 - $37 hourly *sign on bonus eligible for journeyman*

Schedule: Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 4:30pm & Friday 7:00am - 12:00pm

The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to:

• Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners.
• Rivet structural assemblies and parts using riveting guns, pneumatic drills, counter sinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, etc.
• Utilize blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to determine sequence of operations, type size for rivets, and hole patterns.
• Apply sealants, adhesives, and solvents per customer specifications by using proper safety devices.
• Perform layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment, or fabricated items.
• Use fractions, decimal, and mathematical formulas to solve dimensional problems.
• Cut, trim, and file parts while verifying fitting tolerances to prepare for installation.
• Fasten, support, and/or hang components and subassemblies.
• Remove fasteners without damaging structures.
• Verify conformance of finished work pieces to specifications using measuring tools.
• Identify product defects and communicate errors to appropriate personnel.
• Collaborate with engineers to complete research and development work.
• Make tooling as needed.
• Bag and tag finished products.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:

Education: High school diploma

Skills:

• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to complete close tolerance work.
• Mechanically inclined with good manual dexterity.
• Familiarity with drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Experience: 3 years in structural assembly - 5 years for journeyman level.

Training: On the job training.
