Balance/ Manual Machinist - 1st Shift - (1150-A)

The outlook for the company is strong as it continues to set higher goals for sustained success together.   Position Summary The balance technician will independently and safely set up and operate various types of manual machining equipment working under the direction of the balance certifier.   Essential Functions   •Read and understand process travelers, setup journals, operation sheets and CMM inspection reports to produce complex finished product. •Set up tooling adjustments and mechanical machine adjustments, as necessary. •Ability to accurately inspect work utilizing various instruments including gages, indicators, and micrometers. •Perform daily TPM responsibilities. •Maintain good housekeeping practices on machines and in work area. Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations. Wear necessary personal protective equipment, as required. •Actively participate in cross-training, cost savings and team activities to improve processes. •Maintain appropriate tact and diplomacy in dealings with co-workers, team members and supervisors. •Work with the balance certifier to obtain a level two of training. This will include theory and proficiency with Ab10, VE3L, and a Pasio 50 balance instruments and various Bridgeport’s to manually remove stock to obtain in tolerance product.   Competencies •Strong mechanical aptitude •Technical capacity •Problem-solving / analysis •Initiative •Results-driven   Experience and Education Previous manual machining experience is required. High school diploma or equivalent required. Degree/certificate from vocation school or college program is a plus, but experience may substitute for education.   Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.   Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
