About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Assembly Specialist to join our logistics team. This role is responsible for assembling mechanical components, interpreting engineering drawings, performing precise measurements, and ensuring high-quality builds across a variety of manufactured products.
This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work with standard manufacturing tools and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical parts and components according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, dimensions, and tolerances with accuracy.
- Perform layout, drilling, tapping, deburring, and general mechanical assembly tasks.
- Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, torque wrenches, etc.).
- Inspect completed assemblies for quality, fit, accuracy, and compliance with requirements.
- Follow standardized work instructions and contribute to the continuous improvement of assembly processes.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve issues or discrepancies.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with 5S and safety standards.
- Accurately record production data, completed work, and any nonconformances.
Qualifications
- 2 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, machining, or related technical work.
- Strong ability to read blueprints, drawings, GD&T callouts, and dimensional requirements.
- Proficiency with basic measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures, etc.).
- Ability to use a wide range of hand tools and shop tools safely and effectively.
- Solid understanding of mechanical components and assembly practices.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- High attention to detail, quality mindset, and commitment to accuracy.
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience in precision manufacturing, metal fabrication, machining, or aerospace components.
- Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 manufacturing environments.
- Ability to perform simple fixture setups or assist machining teams.
- Experience with heli coil inserts
- Knowledge of press fitting bushings
