How will your role make an impact at Aera Therapeutics? We are looking for a Senior Research Associate to support our therapeutic discovery programs from early drug discovery through pre-clinical development. You will support the development of our oligonucleotide conjugate programs and works collaboratively across Aera to achieve program milestones and goals. You will report into the Associate Director, Therapeutic Discovery and is onsite 5 days per week in our Cambridge office.

Our salary ranges are determined by job scope, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position as posted. Within the range, individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and business need. In addition to the base salary, eligible employees will have an opportunity to participate in an annual cash bonus, equity incentives, and a robust benefits offering that includes health insurance, 401k retirement plan with company match, paid sick and vacation time, life and disability insurance, and commuting expense reimbursement.

You Will
- Lead development of bioanalytical assays to measure gene expression and target engagement
- Independently perform RNA isolation, qPCR, RNA-seq, and hybridization-based assays to quantify target engagement and oligonucleotide biodistribution
- Process biological samples from mouse and non-human primate tissues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute experiments in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of experimental data within the laboratory information management system, ensuring data integrity and accessibility
- Analyze data, prepare summary slides, and communicate results to relevant stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences, molecular biology, biochemistry or a related field with 5 years of relevant laboratory experience in industry
- Master's degree in biomedical sciences, molecular biology, biochemistry or a related field with 3 years of relevant laboratory experience in industry
- Demonstrated experience developing bioanalytical assays from tissue samples
- Demonstrated excellence routinely running bioanalytical assays such as qPCR, ELISA, MSD, Luminex, etc. from cell or tissue samples
- Experience with primary cell culture
