Robot Welding Programmer

$70,000 – $85,000 (Based on Experience)
Full-Time | Monday–Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Robot Welding Programmer to join a growing manufacturing engineering team within a highly automated fabrication environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working hands-on with robotic weld systems, optimizing processes, and driving continuous improvement on the shop floor.
You’ll play a key role in supporting production, improving weld quality, and helping expand automation capabilities.
What You’ll Do
- Create, modify, and optimize robotic welding programs
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints
- Design, test, and improve fixtures and tooling
- Adjust programs to improve cycle time, weld quality, and throughput
- Troubleshoot robotic systems and mechanical issues
- Support production schedules and quality standards
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Welding certificate, technical degree, or equivalent hands-on experience
- 1 years of robotic welding programming experience
- Experience operating robotic weld cells
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Background in sheet metal fabrication and welded assemblies
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ABB robotic systems
- PLC familiarity (ABB preferred)
- Experience with fixture/tooling design
- CAD experience (AutoCAD, Inventor, or other 3D software)
- Experience transitioning manual welding processes to automation
- Root cause analysis and process improvement experience

This role is not a fit for candidates with:
- Only manual welding experience (no robotics)
- No programming experience
