Position Summary:
Aegis Worldwide is partnered with a manufacturer in the Maineville, OH area who is seeking a highly skilled applications engineer who will be creating programs and or modifying existing programs as needed to establish setup processes for the CNC departments.
Must Haves:
- 3 years of experience developing new programs for CNC machinery using Siemens NX
Job Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the conceptual development and detailed design of complex work holding fixtures and gauges.
- Collaborate with tooling suppliers to assess and select optimal cutting tool technologies for machining high-temperature superalloys used in the gas turbine industry.
- Create and refine prototypes while testing new programs and methods in a hands-on shop environment, incorporating feedback from floor personnel to drive improvements.
- Interpret and apply engineering drawings and specifications to plan setups and operations that meet production and manufacturing requirements
- Establish best-practice machining processes and select appropriate tooling to ensure high-quality, cost-efficient output
- Develop toolpaths using CAD/CAM software and choose suitable cutting tools to generate programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling, turning, and grinding operations
- Validate and simulate toolpaths using Vericut software to ensure accuracy and avoid errors
- Prepare detailed setup instructions and tooling lists for machinists
