Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring reliable operation of both facility infrastructure and manufacturing equipment. This role performs preventive and corrective maintenance on injection molding machinery, auxiliary equipment, automation systems, and a wide range of building systems. Key duties include troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, maintaining utilities such as compressed air and HVAC, and supporting equipment uptime through structured maintenance programs.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on injection molding machines, molds, robots, and related auxiliary equipment (dryers, temperature controllers, conveyors, etc.).
- Maintain and service facility systems including plumbing, electrical distribution, HVAC units, lighting, water supply, chillers, cooling towers, and compressed air systems.
- Monitor overall equipment performance and facility utilities to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems on production and facility equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives (e.g., TPM principles).
- Assist with installation, setup, alignment, and relocation of machinery and equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, spare parts usage, and service records.
- Coordinate with external contractors for inspections, calibration, and specialized repairs when required.
- Support safety, environmental, and workplace-organization standards, including 5S routines.
- Respond to urgent maintenance issues and support production teams to keep operations running smoothly.
Qualifications / Experience
- High school diploma or technical certification in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with strong exposure to plastic injection molding equipment and/or automated production lines.
- Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems used in industrial machinery.
- Experience with facility utilities and general building maintenance, including plumbing systems, HVAC equipment, compressors, chillers, and electrical infrastructure.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance strategies and reliability-focused maintenance practices (TPM experience is a plus).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work different shifts, respond to emergencies, or provide overtime support when needed.
- Certifications such as electrician licensing or forklift operation are advantageous.
Salary : $65,000 - $80,000
