This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys hands-on electrical/mechanical work, thrives in the field, and wants to build specialized expertise in industrial combustion, controls, and system commissioning.The company is willing to train strong troubleshooters, making this a great career-building opportunity for someone with solid technical fundamentals looking to step into a high-demand niche.What You’ll DoCommission new steam and thermal fluid heating units at customer sitesPerform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on industrial systemsWork with PLC and HMI platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens / RSLogix500, etc.)Conduct combustion testing and tune burner fuel-air ratios using analyzersSupport customers via phone/email when not travelingPerform pre-shipment burner testing at the factoryDocument service work, write weekly trip reports, and contribute to instruction manual contentTravel to customer sites including power plants, hospitals, process facilities, boiler rooms, ship engine rooms, labs, and moreLocation: Anywhere in the U.S. (must live within 2 hours of a major airport)Travel: 80–90% (70% domestic / up to 20% international)Pay: $40–$45/hr Per Diem ($65 domestic / $100–$150 international)Overtime: could be up to 20 hours during travel weeksWhat We’re Looking ForPreferred Background:Associate’s degree or high school diploma/GED3 years working with PLCs, HMIs, or industrial control systemsExperience writing, editing, loading, or troubleshooting control programs (RSLogix500 preferred)Strong electrical & mechanical troubleshooting skills (motors, relays, sensors, actuators, circuits)Ability to read electrical and piping schematicsFamiliarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systemsExperience with boilers, burners, HVAC, or combustion equipment (strong plus)Comfort using hand tools, multimeters, diagnostic equipment, and combustion analyzersPersonal Traits:Enjoys heavy travel and field-based workStrong communicator, both written and verbalIndependent, resourceful, and able to represent the company professionally on-siteWhy This Role Stands OutExtensive training for candidates with strong troubleshooting skillsHigh autonomy with the ability to work from home when not travelingExposure to international environments and complex industrial systemsHands-on impact commissioning equipment at customer locationsCareer-building technical depth in combustion, controls, and industrial heating
