About the Position
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Home Health Biller with strong knowledge of home health billing and revenue cycle management. The ideal candidate will have experience billing Medicare, Medicare Advantage, managed care, and commercial insurance plans.
Must have experience with Axxess EMR. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing claims from submission through payment, following up on unpaid claims, resolving denials, and maintaining accurate accounts receivable.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, managed care, and commercial insurance claims.
- Complete billing and claim submission through Axxess EMR.
- Monitor authorizations and ensure services billed are supported by authorized visits.
- Submit electronic claims and resolve rejected or returned claims.
- Review EOBs and ERAs and accurately post payments.
- Research and resolve billing denials and claim discrepancies.
- Submit corrected claims, appeals, and reconsiderations as necessary.
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on aging balances.
- Communicate with insurance companies and payer representatives regarding claim status and payment issues.
- Work with clinical and administrative staff to obtain missing documentation required for billing.
- Maintain accurate billing records and documentation within Axxess.
- Identify recurring billing issues and communicate them to management.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient information.
Required Qualifications
- 10 years of Home health billing experience required.
- Experience with Medicare and Medicare Advantage billing.
- Experience with insurance authorizations and claims follow-up.
- Strong understanding of EOBs, ERAs, denials, corrected claims, and appeals.
- Experience using Axxess EMR.
- Experience with electronic claims submission and clearinghouses.
- Strong computer and data-entry skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet billing deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
