MACHINE OPERATOR

POSITION:

A Machine Operator I is responsible for cutting / manufacturing various types of parts while adhering to company and customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction on the equipment they are hired for. operating overhead hoists or cranes, using hand tools appropriate for the job, and reading and interpreting blueprints.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reads computer job orders, job specifications and blueprints to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
• Ensures all equipment is properly set-up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use.
• Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction
• Measures workpiece dimensions with a caliper, tape measure, or protractor to determine accuracy of machine operation
• Identify issues and bring them to supervisors’ attention.
  
  
  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School or equivalent required
• Prior mechanical background preferred
• Prior Fabrication experience a plus
