Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you'll operate CNC lathes and CNC milling machines to produce high-quality parts efficiently and safely. No experience is required — we're willing to train the right person — but candidates with CNC machining experience will be given preference. This is a great opportunity to build valuable skills with hands-on training in a shop environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC lathes and CNC milling machines to meet production specifications
- Follow provided setup sheets, blueprints, or production documents to ensure proper machine setup and part quality
- Use precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Follow all safety standards and procedures during machine operation
- Handle materials and tooling efficiently, including loading stock and packaging finished parts
- Perform quality control checks to confirm parts meet specifications
- Keep accurate records of production, inspections, and machine logs
- Communicate with supervisors about machine issues, material needs, or quality concerns
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Qualifications
- No experience required — willing to train
- Prior experience with CNC lathes, CNC mills, or CNC programming is a plus and preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to read a tape measure and use basic measuring instruments (or willingness to learn)
- Ability to read blueprints/technical drawings is a plus
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 5-50 lbs
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- High school diploma or GED preferred
