Mechanical Engineering Intern

Position
Swenson Spreader is seeking detail-oriented Engineering Coordinator to support and maintain engineering systems, documentation, and data integrity across our organization. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with various departments, solve real-world engineering problems, and gain hands-on experience in product development and manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the engineering document repository (Windchill), including document updates, numbering alignment, and PDF uploads
- Manage and maintain ERP system (MAPICS) data, including Item Masters, Warehouses, BOMs, and Routings
- Perform ongoing updates and changes in ERP to support current business needs (e.g., purchased vs. fabricated items)
- Maintain and update Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), including creation, review, and finalization
- Conduct Engineering BOM reviews to ensure completeness and accuracy against defined checklists
- Maintain stocking parts lists by product line
- Manage and update the Engineering SharePoint Hub
- Archive nesting files and ensure proper documentation control during revisions
- Remove obsolete data and ensure alignment between Windchill and ERP systems
- Participate in training and support special projects related to ERP, BOM, and ECO process improvements
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a technical field a plus
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software a plus (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Familiarity with basic engineering principles and practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
