Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced, organized and reliable Dental Receptionist to join our fast paced endodontic office. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming environment while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as proficiency in handling dental records/ insurance. Dual training is a plus. Salary is commesurate with abilities and experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage the check-in and check-out process.
- Schedule appointments, confirm appointments and manage the dental office calendar effectively.
- Handle insurance information, claim status and patient responsability.
- Handle billing inquiries and process payments in accordance with practice policies.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Assist dental staff with administrative tasks as needed, including four-handed dentistry support.
- Manage effectively incoming calls, respond to patient inquiries, and provide information about services offered.
- Utilize dental software for record keeping and appointment scheduling.
- Support the dental team with basic procedures when necessary, particularly in areas like prosthodontics and endodontics.
Skills
- Proficient in managing dental records and documentation.
- Knowledge of dental assisting practices is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology is beneficial
- Ability to maintain professionalism while handling sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
