What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rehabilitation Specialist - PRP position at Advocate Support Services, Inc.?
Lead With Purpose. Practice With Integrity. Change Lives.
Company Description
Advocate Support Services, Inc. specializes in providing psychiatric rehabilitation services to adults with mental illness. Our mission is to support clients in their journey toward recovery, fostering independence and enhancing quality of life. Through education and advocacy, we empower individuals to overcome challenges and achieve their personal goals. We are committed to creating a positive impact in our community by delivering compassionate and effective support services.
Rehabilitation Specialist / Field Supervisor (PRP‑A)
At Advocate Support Services, Inc. we believe psychiatric rehabilitation is more than a service — it’s a commitment to dignity, growth, and possibility.
We are seeking a Rehabilitation Specialist (RS) who is ready to step into a true leadership role — someone who values clarity, accountability, and person‑centered care, and who wants to shape a program where recovery is intentional, not incidental.
This role is grounded in COMAR 10.63 and CARF Behavioral Health Standards but driven by something deeper: the belief that people do better when systems are clear, clinicians are empowered, and care is rooted in respect.
This Is a Role for Leaders
As a Rehabilitation Specialist at Advocate, you are not “supporting” clinical decisions — you are making them.
You will serve as the clinical authority for:
- Intake execution
- Rehabilitation assessments
- Individual Rehabilitation Plans (IRPs)
- Clinical supervision and direction of Case Workers
- Assessment and processing of PRP discharges
Case Workers carry out the plans you create. This structure ensures consistency, protects staff, strengthens outcomes, and honors the people we serve.
What Your Leadership Makes Possible
In this role, you will:
- Lead with clinical clarity and ethical responsibility
- Build person‑centered, recovery‑oriented IRPs that actually guide services
- Provide direct care when clinically indicated, not by default
- Coach and develop Case Workers through structured, documented supervision
- Protect program integrity through strong documentation and audit readiness
- Assess readiness for discharge with thoughtfulness and care
- Create systems that support staff while centering client growth
- Partner with the community to strengthen access and continuity of care
Your work will directly shape the quality, consistency, and humanity of services delivered every day.
Who Thrives Here
This role is a strong fit if you:
- Believe leadership means responsibility, not hierarchy
- Value structure because it creates freedom and safety
- Are decisive, reflective, and grounded in recovery principles
- See documentation as part of ethical practice, not a burden
- Want to build something solid — not constantly put out fires
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health field (Master’s preferred)
- Credentials (Maryland): CPRP, LCPC, or LCSW‑C
- Experience:
- 2–3 years in psychiatric rehabilitation or behavioral health
- Supervisory and documentation oversight experience strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of COMAR 10.63 and CARF Behavioral Health Standards
What We Offer
- Competitive salary
- A mission‑driven, values‑aligned organization
- Leadership support that respects your expertise
- The opportunity to help build a high‑integrity, audit‑defensible, person‑centered PRP program
We know that experienced professionals have options—and that choosing the right role is about alignment, not urgency.
If you are looking for a position where your expertise is trusted, your leadership is welcomed, and your work contributes to something stable, ethical, and well‑run, we encourage you to consider Advocate Support Services. We are building programs meant to last—programs where staff are supported, clients are respected, and systems are designed with care.
If this role speaks to your values and your professional goals, we would be honored to learn more about you.
Advocate Support Services, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We value lived experience, diversity, and inclusive leadership, and we are committed to creating a workplace where people — clients and staff alike — are treated with dignity and respect.
