Major Responsibilities

Quality Food Preparation

• utilizes standardized recipes and ingredient control for trayline and retail
• follows proper preparation procedures
• checks food temperatures, texture, color, aroma and taste prior to service.
  
  

Guest Relations

• contributes to hospital's mission statement and values in all interactions
• follows established uniform policy
• maintains a professional image
• responds positively to all request and interactions
  
  

Safe Food Handling Procedures

• proper food rotation (first in first out)
• safe food storage (no cross-contamination); label and date all food items
• utilizes products within 48 hours of preparation date
• records and documents cold holding food temperatures every two hours
  
  

Proper Time Management

• follows position timeline/job routine
• safe food storage (no cross-contamination); label and date all food items
• productive and efficient use of non-break time
  
  

Responsible Cost Controls

• records all food production amounts
• manintains department timeline through on-time performance
  
  

Training

• attends scheduled department inservices
• attends/gives feedback participates in production meetings
• successfully cross-trains in all production positions
• assists with cross-training of other employees
• reports any problems with recipes, production sheets, productions numbers promptly for continuous quality improvement Education/Experience Required: one year of healthcare/trayline or related experience.
  
  

High school diploma Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

Various room temperatures

Numerous occasions of bending and or lifting as related to essential job activities

Ability to perform heavy lifting (lifting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally and or 35 to 50 pounds frequently and or 10 to 35 pounds constantly.)
