Responsibilities:
- Makes daily rounds of nursing unit, evaluates resident care and staff performance, acts as a liaison between staff and nursing administration
- Interprets policies, procedures, standards, and rules and regulations to all unit managers and nursing staff, provides positive and/or corrective action in dealing with respective unit nursing personnel
- Communicates pertinent organizational and departmental information to other supervisors and all nursing units
- Maintains records that are pertinent to the operation and management of nursing units, condition of residents, resident census, and nursing service rendered
- Identifies staff, supply, and/or equipment needs and provides input into plans of correction
- Ability to function effectively and efficiently in emergency situations
- Thorough knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid rules and regulations with regards to Resident assessments and care plan implementation
- Evaluates and recommends changes/improvements in areas affecting quality resident care
- Communicates with residents, family members, physicians, and staff to assure resident satisfaction
- Establish, maintain, and promote effective working relationships with nursing personnel, residents, family members, and ancillary staff
- All other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Current R.N. or LPN registration, within state
- Three years of experience preferred with a minimum of two years in a long-term care facility
- Minimum of one-year previous leadership experience
