Property Manager – Affordable Housing
A Long-Island based owner/operator/developer is seeking an experienced Property Manage to oversee operations across multiple properties within their Suffolk County portfolio. This individual will initially oversee two properties, with a third property expected to come online within the next six months. The additional asset will be a newly developed property.
The ideal candidate is an experienced manager who can step in immediately, provide strong leadership, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations across the properties. Experience with affordable housing is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of assigned affordable housing communities, ensuring properties are well-maintained and operating efficiently.
- Manage on-site staff, including leasing and maintenance teams, providing guidance, oversight, and support.
- Ensure compliance with all affordable housing regulations and program requirements (e.g., LIHTC, Section 8, or other applicable programs).
- Monitor occupancy levels, leasing activity, and resident relations to maintain strong community engagement and performance.
- Oversee rent collections, budgeting, and financial performance of the properties.
- Coordinate with regional leadership and ownership on property performance, operational needs, and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure properties remain compliant with local, state, and federal housing regulations.
- Address resident concerns and maintain a high level of customer service across all communities.
- Travel between properties as needed to support operational priorities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing affordable housing communities.
- Strong knowledge of affordable housing compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing property teams and operations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and travel between properties as needed.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with property management software and reporting tools preferred.
Base Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 plus company medical benefits contribution and 401k.
