Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate engaging activities that promote teamwork, creativity, and physical activity for children of various ages.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers by supervising daily routines and enforcing camp rules.
- Manage group dynamics with positive behavior management techniques to foster an inclusive environment.
- Assist with classroom management during educational or writing-based activities, ensuring smooth transitions and active participation.
- Provide first aid when necessary, following proper protocols to address minor injuries or health concerns.
- Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance, applying knowledge of special education principles when applicable.
- Collaborate with fellow counselors and staff to plan themed events, sports competitions, theatrical performances, and other camp programs that excite campers.
Skills
- Exceptional classroom management skills to maintain order while encouraging fun and participation.
- Able to attend training June 13th in person.
- Experience working with children in educational settings, daycare, or childcare environments.
- Strong background in teaching, tutoring, or early childhood education.
- Ability to handle behavior management challenges with patience and positive reinforcement techniques.
- Familiarity with sports coaching, theater arts, or babysitting roles that involve working directly with kids.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging children effectively and collaborating with team members.
