What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teaching Artist position at Adventure Theatre MTC?
Adventure Theatre MTC Academy is looking for caring and talented Musical Theatre Teaching Artists for its upcoming after-school programs, spring classes and summer camps throughout Montgomery County. Teachers should have a genuine interest in showing students the magic of theatre and be able to direct students in their upcoming final performances using safe and effective communication skills. This position reports to the Academy Manager.
Director & Assistant Director/Stage Manager:
Qualifications
• B.A. or B.F.A in Theatre, Musical Theatre, or equivalent experience
• 2-5 years of theatre education experience
• Must be able to provide their own reliable transportation
Music Director
• B.A. B.M. or B.F.A in Music Education, or equivalent experience
• 2-5 years of music education experience
• Play Piano and coach voice
• Team player who can collaborate with the Director for the duration of the program
• Must be able to provide their own reliable transportation
Responsibilities:
- The Teaching Artist will be responsible for fostering a safe, fun and positive learning environment for their students
- They will be responsible for planning and implementing weekly lesson plans for their class
- Care for the safety and well-being of all students; in accordance with ATMTC Academy handbook and policies.
- Create weekly lesson plans that will challenge students based on parameters determined by the Academy Manager, while keeping in mind age appropriate content.
