Musicfully is searching for a kid friendly Musical Theater professional to help create their musical theater classes. Come and do what you do best, spread your enthusiasm of Musical Theater to kids grades 2-5. Class is Thursdays 3:30-4:30. For this class we are looking for an individual that can teach kids all things backstage. Creating set and prop pieces, as we get closer to the show transitioning to helping the kids run part of the backstage elements which could include lights and sound.
If you are:
- Friendly and upbeat
- degree holders (B.A. or B.F.A in Theater, Musical Theater, or equivalent experience)
- awesome with kids
- reliable
- able to pass a background check
- able to commit to the end of the school year
- experienced (2-5 years of theater education experience)
What you'll do:
- Conduct a weekly class teaching the basics of Technical theater
- Helping students create set elements
- Helping students build props
- The Teaching Artist will be responsible for fostering a safe, fun and positive learning environment for their students
- They will be responsible for planning and implementing weekly meetings for their class
- Care for the safety and well-being of all students; in accordance with Musicfully handbook and policies.
- Create weekly lesson plans that will challenge students based on parameters determined by the Academy Manager, while keeping in mind age appropriate content.
