What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Patient Access Scheduling Representative (Outpatient) position at Adventist Health?
Job Summary:
Coordinates the day-to-day activities and management of patient access services in clinical setting, such as pre-registration, registration, admissions, payment collection, and other functions. Assumes responsibility for communication systems within departments. Provides guidance to staff within the latitude of established work area and policies. Works on assignments that are considerably difficult requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations. Works with sensitive and confidential information, often involving the interpretation of policies and procedures to guide use.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Five years' relevant experience: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Obtains all required information for admission and discharge, such as insurance provider information, financial information, and other information.
- Coordinates payment collection processes.
- Maintains communication between departments and adheres to regulations.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
