Shift : Night, 7pm-7am
Location: 501 Redmond Road, Rome, GA 30165
The community you'll be caring for: AdventHealth Redmond
The role you'll contribute: Responsible for the collection of patient samples using standard venipuncture, microtainer, and collection techniques. This position receives laboratory specimens and processes samples for laboratory testing. This role performs clerical and client service functions in the laboratory as needed. In addition, this position ensures accurate labeling and handling of specimens. This role maintains a clean and organized work environment.
The value you'll bring to the team:
- Follows appropriate safety policies, including the use of PPE, handwashing, and hazardous chemical handling.
- Demonstrates understanding and adherence to the Chemical Hygiene plan and Infection Control policies.
- Transports hazardous waste from the point of generation to a designated secure storage area, completing required training for proper handling and transport.
- Assists with department orientation and trains laboratory staff and students.
- Mentors new employees and ensures competency documentation is completed.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
- High School Grad or Equivalent Required
- 6 months phlebotomy experience preferred
